Carbon Zero announces that it has secured a 14 MW / 28 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project located in South Savo, Finland, which has now reached Ready to Build (RtB) status.

The project has successfully completed all key development milestones, including permitting and grid related requirements, and is positioned to proceed into the next phase of development. It represents a further step in Carbon Zero’s strategy to build a high quality portfolio of battery energy storage assets in selected European markets.

Finland continues to provide a stable and supportive framework for battery energy storage, underpinned by strong demand for system flexibility and grid resilience. The South Savo project is well aligned with local grid needs and the prevailing regulatory environment.

Carbon Zero will now advance the project in line with its disciplined development and investment approach.
