Carbon Zero announces that it has secured a 30 MW / 60 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Finland, located in North Karelia, which has now reached Ready‑to‑Build (RtB) status.

The project has completed all key development milestones, including permitting and grid‑related requirements, and is positioned to progress into the next phase of development. This milestone represents a further step in Carbon Zero’s strategy to build a high‑quality portfolio of battery energy storage assets in the Finnish market.

Battery energy storage plays a critical role in supporting system flexibility and resilience across Finland’s power system, particularly as renewable generation continues to expand. This project contributes to that objective and aligns with the country’s regulatory and market framework for storage assets.

Carbon Zero will advance the project in line with its disciplined development and investment approach, as it continues to expand its battery energy storage portfolio across selected European markets.
